Line-Of-Sight (LoS) Analysis

A basic building block

The GeoView Los Visibility Tool determines whether an Observer can see a Target, factoring in the terrain between them and the specific characteristics of the line of sight.

🔍 Optical Los: The software analyzes whether any points along the line intersect with the ground.

- If no points touch the terrain, the target is considered visible.

- If one or more points intersect the ground, the target is deemed obstructed.

📡 Radio Los: The software uses the specified frequency (in GHz) to calculate the dimensions of the Fresnel ellipsoid. It then checks whether the lower boundary of the ellipsoid intersects the terrain.

- If it does, the radio signal is blocked.

- If it doesn’t, the signal path is clear.
