History
GeoSmart-IL creates innovative software products, that merge geography and AI, to enhance situational awareness and real time decision making in both Civilian, HLS and military domains.
We use LLM to create AI agents that understand maps, and interact using voice with the user to perform tasks (see videos on Home and Blog page).
Our mission is to make geodesy and naviagtion accessible and comprehensible to everyone.
Foundation
Our Beginning
The company was founded by Oren Halpern, a passionate geodetic and navigation engineer (M.sc), and Ilanit Appelfeld, IP Expert Lawyer in 2025. We saw the potential of combining AI with geospatial science to revolutionize how geodesy is understood and utilized.

Oren Halpern
CEO & Founder

Oren holds a B.sc and M.sc in Geodetic Engineering from the Technion, specializing in Computer Vision and GIS.

He has 6 years of experience in the IAF as a team leader, responsible for R&D in GIS / CV / AI / ML

He worked for 22 years at Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, in a variety of development and leadership positions.

In the past year he worked at GE Healthcare, developing cutting edge SPET-CT medical imaging software.

He is passionate about Geography, AI and Programming, and tries to combine them in innovative ways.
